In June, a group of fifteen students in the Egan Service Living Program, and two Spalding University staff, went to Dunbar, PA for a service trip. The Spalding program requires of its members regular volunteering throughout the year; most volunteer work is completed in the Louisville and surrounding areas. Sr. Luke and I teamed up with Sr. Alice, in Pennsylvania, to set up and work with the students at their worksites in Uniontown and Connellsville, PA. Their painting skills were excellent, along with their consciencious work habits, generous hearts and entertaining humor. The people of Uniontown and Connellsville were grateful for the enormous amount of work done in such a short time! Many remarked that their work was the best they had ever had by any group.
